Bourj Hammoud is a poor and highly neglected sector in Beirut, with a decaying infrastructure.
It started in 1980 as a training center through our technical training school “Oasis de L’Esperance”. The center then expanded in 1987 with the establishment of a workshop for artisanal production and economic habilitation.
The workshop then naturally developed to become the “Artisan du Liban”, aiming at creating job opportunities for the displaced and encouraging traditional crafts production for disadvantaged women.
The current Bourj Hammoud community center was officially inaugurated in 2004, answering the wider and growing developmental needs of the region, including Sin El Fil, Dekwaneh, Karantina, Dora and Rweissat.

Head of Center: Rima Abi Nader.
